Men writing. I have to say I do LOVE writing.But in the beginning of 8TH grade I was REALLY bad at it, Like for example. . .
*Reading Responses (which I hated)
*Test prep
*ESSAYS (ugh the worst)
*and other stuff that had to do with writing

I mean lets be serious it was just all a BIG BLUR to me I guess. I gotta say I didn't really care or pay no mind to writing. Now I realize its important or as MR.Locker would say " Writing follows you throughout your lifetime "[LOLL], that's a shocker because he was right unfortunately. But anyways in humanities we learned a whole bunch about writing, like we did a whole quarter of learning how to write essays and how to start our paragraphs.But one thing I really like about writing is that when you write u can express yourself in any type of way no matter where you are. .

*The garbage
well you know what I mean, but like I said ANYWHERE.Now in school I write a lot better than what I used to write in the past years.

WRITING ON CODE H

Writing is the number one priority in life.We write everyday.I've improved a lot on my writing.For example, I use the term For example and I restate the prompt. Another example is Kaylene,Angela,Ty-liese,Victor,Darkell,Justin,(my classmates) and myself go to this class with Ms.Shah and Mr.Tai,which is called Inquiry Team.In this class we learn about how to learn how to use transition words and how to end a paragraph and how to summarize the paragraph.
In humanities we learned a lot,we spend ed a whole unit learning how to make paragraphs and end them.But the main thing about writing that I like is that even when your not at school,you can write anywhere, and anytime and express your self with just words.We also have this class that is called communication arts (which the whole class is in) at first in this class we just though of it as another 45 minutes of humanities.We though wrong.Mr.Locker and Ms.Shah had an idea of making communication arts into a poetry class.At first I'm not gonna lie ,I though it was a dumb idea,that it should just be a simple class.But then we all had to get our own notebooks and go home and write our own poems.At school we did have free write but at home,you really do free write because you have so many things that can inspired you.For example, if you was to look out the window u see so many things like the birds,the buildings,the sky and clouds.In school you can look out the window to, but it wouldn't be the same or feel the same.Like in school it isn't the same because your so distracted by whats going on in the hallways or if there's a fight going on outside or you just see the old building that are just there.But anyone can write about anything.Another thing I like about writing is that when you get down something good,you can't stop writing everything just spills out like milk into a cup.
Writing is good,and that's why reading and writing have inspired me to write my own book.Can you picture it now,Because I can!

Taysia's Mind Of Reading !

As i started 7Th grade I hated reading,I didn't even want to look at a book. Every time I had to read in class, I just stared into space. I did not pay attention to the story in the book. Now that I'm in 8Th grade I love to read! I even read at home for 30 minutes and more. I didn't only change as a reader but I changed as a person as well. The person that really made me changed was my teachers Mr.Locker and Ms. Shah. They took their own time and patients to change me. I'm glad they changed me because if they didn't I think I would HATE reading for a long time or I probably won't even look at a book. One of my favorite books was Battle of Jericho by Sharon draper. This book was about a boy named Jericho and his cousin Josh trying to get in a school gang. They had to do crazy stunts and crazy things to be I the gang. One of their stunts was to jump out a 2 story window and Josh did it and died. Ever since then Jericho learned his lesson and is not interested in gang related stuff. One book I really didn't enjoy was Cool Moonlight by Angela Johnson. I didn't really understand it and it was boring to me. This book was mostly about a girl who is allergic to the sun and liked to go out in the night and play with her imaginary friends.However, now that I read more and know a lot about the Characters in my book I'm a GREAT reader .

THE LOVELY LIFE OF READING !!

In my 8th grade life I have learned so much and read more books then i have in my life time . To me reading still isn't fun but I actually sat down at home and read for 30 minutes or more, I am very proud of my self. I have read over 15 books , and they have helped my reading level go up and my motivation to learn more.
In April we took a reading survey and self-assessment.It asked us questions like what remark fits you the best about reading? and I chose "I really didn't read before 8th read and now I feel better about it". I think that, that sentence was saying that in 7th grade , reading to me wasn't that serious but then I came into the 8th grade and I felt that reading had to be a very big part of my school and outside life.
In the begin of the year it was hard for me to sit down at home and read, I would get distracted by many things like my sister,the t.v, and my friends.But now I can sit in my room,close the door, and sit down and read for 30 minutes or more.
The book that inspired me to sit down in my room and read was What My Mother Doesn't Know.This book really caught my attention because it was in poem form and it really told what Sophie(the main character of the book) has feelings for this boy that everyone makes fun of(Robin Murphy).
The book that I liked but I really didn't like reading at home was Twlight.I guess the reason why I didn't want to sit at home and read this book was because it was such a long book,and the the main reason why I read this book was because many people who read the book said it was a great book and that I should read it, and also because the movie was coming out at that same time.
However, reading has got me far and has me thinking about writing a book of my own.

Why did immigrnts come to America ?

The question that many Americans have is Why do immigrants come to America?The 803 class has had a unit were we study and dug deep to get the answer to this question.So now my partner and I are going to tell you a little something about this topic that many people in America research.
Emily: Well why do you think immigrants come to America Taysia?

Taysia: Well Emily I think because they come to seek a better life.

Emily: What's a better life?

Taysia:To them America was the "Golden Land" they heard so many pull and push factors.
